The Digital Toys Special Interest Group (SIG) serves to support the
Toy SIG . We work with "digital tools," like the large CNC machine and laser cutting/engraving machines, and their associated software.
A typical session in the Digital Toys SIG will usually have us cutting out toys on the CNC machine, possibly adding a few touches with one of the lasers, then doing some initial routing and sanding of the toys. We then set our work aside so that the elves in the
Toy SIG can continue to sand, paint, add embellishments, and get the toys ready for their Christmas delivery!
If you would like to join us most Monday mornings from 9am to noon to learn more about the CNC and laser machines, and to help us with our part in the toy supply chain, we would love to have you. We also recommend that if you would like to get a solid foundation in 3D printing and use of the lasers, that you check out the
Digital Printing & Engraving SIG. Every other Monday evening, resident expert Jerry is happy to share his vast knowledge relating to 3D printing, laser engraving, and more.
